the muse

the muse sleeps til noon. the muse doesn't want to have to answer to anyone else. the muse wants breakfast food at 2pm - while all the "normal" people are eating "lunch."

is the muse lazy? marching to the beat of his/her own drum?

or is the muse simply liberated? living, thinking, breathing, BEING outside of the box. outside the realm of social norms, conventions and expectations imposed by others. those who say "dress this way," "cut your hair this length," or "appear this way to your colleagues."

perhaps the muse is the only free spirit remaining in this moribund world - a world that can no longer hold up under the weight of all the hierarchical structures that have been imposed by the forces that seek, through control of others, their OWN safety and security. everyone else be damned.

I want no part in such a world, for I choose TO LIVE.
