If he said it, then so can we

I started on a different topic the other day, and found myself dropping F bombs that then had me include a disclaimer at the outset that “This post is RATED R for graphic language.”

And whereas I know some out there — especially likely my family — would take issue with using foul language in such a public milieu, I decided we needed to address the issue of cursing once and for all.

I remember growing up and being told that cursing is not really socially acceptable. Anytime one of us kids in that era used so-called “bad words,” we were told “Watch your language!” The generation before ours actually had their mouths washed out with soap if they voiced an expletive. Yes, we heard graphic language in movies growing up, and a lot of us parroted this language in our social circles behind the adults’ backs. But it was never really something that was to be employed publicly.

But, we can no longer be told we need to censor ourselves to not use such language when it feels appropriate, considering that THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES HAS USED THE FOLLOWING LANGUAGE IN PUBLIC:

"We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the fuck they're doing.”

He has repeatedly referred to some nations as “shithole” countries.

He called Kamala Harris a “shit vice president.”

He said, ”If you don't support me, you're going to be so goddamn poor.”

He called Beto O'Rourke a "poor bastard."

On Sunday, he retweeted a video of a UFC fighter, calling him "a bad motherfucker."

He called Gov. Matt Bevin (R-KY.) "a pain in the ass."

In October 2019 alone, he said Joe Biden "understood how to kiss Barack Obama's ass," called Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) "a pompous 'ass,'" called himself a "son of a bitch," called the impeachment inquiry "bullshit," and said "hell" 72 times.

And of course he infamously bragged about “grabbing women by the pussy.”

That’s just the tip of the iceberg, folks. If the president of the United States is allowed to use such language with impunity, then can someone please explain to me how it is inappropriate for ANY of the rest of us to talk this way??

Oh, and I guess it’s also now okay to brag, lie, cheat, steal, demean women, threaten others, mock disabilities, and manipulate people.

I will NOT sit here and state that it’s also now okay to sexually assault little children as well. But, isn’t this administration doing seemingly everything in its power to cover up some sort of behavior like this within their own ranks? Let’s just release those files, why don’t we, and put an end to such speculation if it isn’t true?

What’s good enough for the goose is good enough for the gander. That’s my stance, and I’m flocking sticking to it!!
