Oh good! I get more entries in the lottery for deportations!

Revisiting my previous posts about “the list,” I see a few more categories I personally ostensibly fit into which now, apparently, qualify me as a “domestic terrorist.”

Did you all see the Presidential Memorandum, "NSPM-7," which was published on September 25? Check out the screenshot above. This administration is swiftly laying all the necessary groundwork for a full on repeat of Nazi Germany. Yes, that regime is remembered mostly for a genocide against Jewish persons. But, as my entries about “the list” point out, that was not the only focus. They went after anyone who simply disagreed with them. If you didn’t toe the party line, you had a target on your back. So, how else do I now qualify?

Anti-Americanism: I would imagine that almost every single blog post I’ve made this summer (as well as many in 2020) would qualify for this label. You see, I used to operate under the illusion that the First Amendment to the Constitution guaranteed us free speech. That’s what it says, right? And so I have very vocally taken advantage of that right to speak my mind about what I have seen unfolding over many years. But now, from the point of view of this current administration, I’m fairly certain I can very easily be called un-American for the critical things I have said.

Anti-capitalist: EVEN IF I had never uttered one negative word about Donald Trump, my virtual footprint clearly doesn’t favor capitalism — simply because I have never understood our country’s obsession with money. What a strange category to imagine being the one that might lead to me being thrown in a gulag. I guess at least I won’t have to worry about what's in my checking account anymore at that point.

Anti-Christianity: so, after my post about “Bad Faith,” coupled with the fact that I’m a cradle Episcopalian (see “the list part 2"), here’s yet another example of how simply expressing my first amendment right to free speech might literally be the death of me. Christian Nationalism is spreading like wildfire right now, and that means all other denominations will likely ultimately be deemed demonic. I mean, seriously — have y’all seen some of the videos of sermons given by Christian Nationalist pastors? They are downright chilling.

Extremism on migration, race or gender: This one is tough to parse, given that 30% of the country feels that black people are inferior. But, I don’t imagine any of that 30% are detention center bound anytime soon. No, knowing this administration, this means anyone critical of WHITE PEOPLE will be held accountable. Does that include me because of the posts and videos I’ve made that simply try to argue THAT BLACK PEOPLE ARE NOT LESS THAN PEOPLE SIMPLY BECAUSE THEY ARE BLACK? Am I literally bound for El Salvador or Uganda because I condemn racism? Or because I support Trans rights? Or because I’m one of many who believe the backbone of this country are the hard working immigrants who fill the positions nobody else wants??

And most recently, with “Antifa” being labeled the most extreme terrorist organization in the entire country, literally anybody can have this label applied to them, meaning every single American had simply better behave or else they’re prison bound. Which means that neighbors can now turn on their neighbors without the slightest provocation, and call the authorities to report “Antifa next door.” Simply because they don’t like them or disagree with them. And I don't know for sure, but I imagine I have made or shared at least one pro-Antifa post over the course of my social media history. Because, you know, Antifa means "Anti Fascist." And I just so happen to not be too keen on fascists.

Those who know me will likely say that I’m one of the nicest, most caring, most compassionate, most empathetic people they have ever met. And I am this way simply because I have never understood racism, homophobia, misogyny, etc. I have tried to simply live a good life and accept people for who they are, and to just let them live the life that they want to live. And I’m now basically an evil person because of this? This is seriously not good for my mental health.

I’ll never understand what’s currently going on around us. Ever.
